Baby Bedding 4 sis

I have been KNEE deep in projects lately. Wow. I keep saying this is the last one and then I get myself another. I have issues really. :) Any-who This was the baby bedding that I made for my sister. It is SOOO her. In fact it is a repeat of her wedding colors. :) I think it turned out cute. I tried my best to match her vision. The RUFFLE all the way around the blanket and bummer was a PAIN. :) Especially because it was a slippery satin and it frayed like crazy. I had a couple people say they would pay me to make one for them. HA! :) I enjoy it occasionally, but not for a money! Besides - they are a lot of work - I know why they charge $300 on Esty etc. The material alone was $80. I know she appreciates my $200 in blood sweat and tears!
The pic doesn't do justice to the skirt because it is all ruffled too. All that hard work will show when she is a toddler and the mattress gets lowered.
The quilt is hand quilted. all the lines are outlined then I made little "x"s every few inches to give it a pucker look a little. It was a fun little method. I like tied quilts from the back, but not with the yarn all sticking up, so this was my answer to the best of both worlds. Wish I would have taken a close up of that. But here is the flower I decided to do last minute. ANOTHER sister of course mentioned how it could be a choking hazard for the baby so that baby is SO stitched on there - the baby would have to swallow the WHOLE blanket. :)

A few too many pic of it I know. It's cause I did this baby in about 2 weeks with a

5 month old baby. (Thank you Mother-in-Law.) It was like having another baby.

P.S. If you decide to tackle one on your own, my suggestion: Go to good will, by a bumper that is clean and nice looking. ($3) wash it and either cut off the old material or cover it with one more layer of thin batting and re-cover it. This was my third bumper and it was waaaay easier and CHEAPER than trying to make it all on my own from scratch. You can't buy the batting for $3. And they have good clean ones at good will. I promise! Remember to look for clean looking = who cares about the print.)

So I have a little craft thing I am selling hair bows and rings and bib clips at this weekend. Wish me luck! Then I hope to post some of my other projects I have been working on. :)

Super Talin

My little sweetie pie Talin. :) He is the most smiley happy easy baby I have ever had! (My girls both had colic.) I could have 3 more like him! :)

He began an army crawl at 6 1/2 months, a week later a real crawl, a week after that standing up on furniture. He is 7 months now and simply a joy.

I LOVE having a baby this go around. I haven't really been much of a baby person, but I am really trying to ENJOY him, seeing that there might not be many more! (I am getting old people.) He is such a joy, such a sweet and happy demeanor all the time. No wonder the Lord told us to be like little children.

I have regretted a lot of things, but never have I regretted sitting down with my kiddos and just playing or talking or crafting or whatever. I need to do more of that. When I ask my kids who is the most fun they always say dad. It's not because he takes them to chuck e cheese or the park or buys them things - cause that is mostly me. It's because he wrestles and tickles them EVERY NIGHT when he gets home. I am a bum mom and don't do that. I need to be better.

Dustin and I were saying how lucky we are to have such good kids. They really are a true joy - and just GOOD kids. I wouldn't trade them for anything. We wonder if we should stop while we are ahead. . . if we have 5 or 6, what are the chances they are all as easy and good? :) Hmmm we shall see!
